Just trying to get a feel for what your attempting to do. Are you trying to make a U or a Z bend in the sheet? What kind of brake do you have? My brake will let me do either as long as the U is shallow enough that the clamping bar can still fit. You may need to fabricate a different clamp or an accessory to your clamping bar. (i.e. use some 1/4" square stock with some tabs.) Hard to explain but easy to use once you understand the concept.

Here is a drawing of what I tried to convey.

:) Bartman Thank's for the impute I am trying to do a Z bend ,my bender (36 in.)doesn't give you much room to do a back bend, and no room to try your idea . I got out my cheaper bender (30 in .)and used i/4in. chanel and some spacer's and it worked . Need to weld on some tabs to clamp it better Thank's again , Tom
