I love Extreme Chassis Black...it's really hard and durable...if it ever dries. Most of the time when I use it, it takes forever to dry to the point that it's not sticky at all. I recently painted a battery clamp and even after 2 weeks it's slightly sticky. I sandblast the parts first, then use Extreme Chassis Black Primer. I let it cure for about 30 - 45 minutes as directed on the can, then top coat with the Extreme Chassis Black...usually 1 or 2 light coats followed by a heavier coat, I'm using rattle cans. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I've even tried letting the parts sit in the sun for a while to see if that would help, but that seems to make it worse.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Rich

Im experiencing the same problem, I painted a trunk lid and 24 hours later the primer was still tacky.

Hi Rich,

I am in the E'wood R&D department and I recently learned of your problem with long dry time of Eastwood Chassis Black. Chassis Black is formulated of the highest quality resins that are extremely resilient when fully cured. We did listen to yours and other customers comments about the dry time and made it a top priority to improve it without compromising the integrity of the product. I am pleased to say that we have accomplished our task and by the time you read this, it should be available for shipment. You will notice that it cures fully within a 24 window and reaches the same level of hardness that it always has. We really do appreciate your feedback and continue to constantly make improvements to all our products because of it.
Thank You, Eastwood R&D
