Okay, so I pc'ed a set of headers. One of them turned out GREAT..the other not so great. After I pulled them from the oven, I noticed that several spots on one of them was kinda light. I applied a second coat of powder to that header and back in the oven it went. Well, it came out perfect!! The only thing is, once it cooled, the powder that I had just applied peeled off like a freakin egg shell!! What did I do wrong and what do I need to do to make it right? Is it best to blast it again and start over?

Thanks in advance!
Kevin

Recoating after any powder is completely cured will not work.

Okay...I blasted the header clean and now I've recoated...looks great!

Here is another question though. Sorry if it seems silly! With Hi-Temp coatings you cure at much higher temps and the literature with the powder states that you can not over cure hi-temp powders... So, my question is this. Once a powder cures, can or will it ever become unstable and "uncure" if the temps reach about or above the original curing temperatures???

Thanks!

Kevin

Hey Kevin:
Most High temps cure at 400 - 450F but the header/manifold will reach much higher operating temps. No sweat. Most high temps will stay stable at operating temps up to 1000F. The eaqstwood high temps are really nice.
As for second coating, you can just scuff the first coat of cured powder (remove any shine), recoat over the first coat & cure again. If you are using a hobby gun, you may need to heat the part up to about 140F to get the second coat to attract over the first coat.
Good Luck
