Not real sure where to put this but...

I live in West Virginia, does anyone know where I can have metal parts regalvanized? The inner fender wells on my truck are galvanized. After 30 years they are starting to look a little bad. So I would like to have them regalvanized. I've read something on how it's done just can't find someone who can do it. The one place I found said they could not do something that small. I guess they are more into industrial size stuff. I also tried that spray on stuff, looked like crap. Looked like gray primer not galvanizing. So I'm looking for a place that can hot dip the parts. Any ideas?

Thanks
Buck

Hi Buck
 I'm not exactly sure but check this site http://www.safestrustremover.com/ (http://) it might be what you need. It works great on so many things I'm sure there tech dept. can help you, they are great and I haven't yet seen anything they can't clean.

Interesting link but not what I was looking for.

I found a place up in Baltimore Md that can do it. At first he didn't want to do it. Started telling me all the reasons I didn't want to galvanize my truck. After he shut up I told him I didn't want the whole truck done. That the inner fenders were galvanized from Ford and I just wanted them redone he changed his mind. So when I get to that part of the project I'll send or take them up there.

Hey Buck,
It's just a thought but did you think about using some rust remover that leaves a galvanic coating behind? Then you can use their weld thru primer, or 3m's, but use 3 coats. This is a galvanic coating that will stay on your vehicle and protect it from rusting and it stays a light silvery color. The instructions say that it can be used as a final topcoat like paint but you need to put on three coats. It has to be less expensive than taking your parts to some shop that doesn't seem to interested in the first place and you can do the parts at your own pace as you take them off.

Some places do offer flame spray zinc. And some may offer flame spray aluminum.

But I prefer the hot dipped zinc.

Flame sprayed zinc is very popular in our area on wrought iron. We are on an Island surrounded by salt water. And it is usually very damp here.
