Default re-clearing car with european clear

I've painted the car with Eastwood single stage chop top silver followed by 2 coats of european clear. The clear went on awful, didn't flow out as I expected. Apparently I should have reduced the clear. The peel is extensive. I started wet sanding the trunk area to see if I could get something good to happen. Not so much. I spent many hours with 1500 and then went to 1000. I have burned through in spots.

I'm thinking I need to sand the whole car down with (600? dry?) and re-clear. I guess I will have to touch up with paint in spots I cut through? Does this sound right or do you have another suggestion?

    Thanks

Sorry to hear you had a bad results with the Euro clear! I have found that reducing it quite a bit does help it flow out much better.

I would advise to hit the entire surface you are reclearing with wet 6-800 until all of the Orange peel/texture is gone. Than respray the color in the areas where you burned through the paint, and reclear the entire car. Try and feather the color out around where you burned through rather than just the tiny little spot that was actually effected, this make the area blend in and disappear rather than a pinpointed area where it was obviously repainted.

    Hope that helps!
