    i watch you on tv, enjoy the show. I am restoring & painting a 68 c10 custom to its original color. gold & white, my 1st, that I have owned for 33 yrs. I purchased your paint your own car 11, very good information & helpful. Need help with taping & painting 2 tone. The top, grill & below the bottom trim is white,the remaining area is 50th yr anniversary gold. I would thankful for any help. Thank you! layon

    Layon, I'd definitly use base-clear for a paint system... Gold is a bearcat to get even, and since you're doing a two tone base-clear will work very well. I'd shoot the white parts first, then mask them off, and shoot the gold. If you use Waterborne like in the DVD, make sure you have fans on the base for several hours before you attempt to mask the white off.... if you tape to it before it's dry it'll make a HUGE mess and cost you time and $$$$$. I'd suggest solvent base, just for the ease of it while you're shooting a difficult color, just so you dont have too much to think about with converting from water to solvent with the same guns.
