Cleaning Paint gun

What is the best way to clean a HVLP between color coats? Using Eastwood 2K Urethane paints. I’m brushing and soaking my gun in Gun in spray gun cleaner. Do I need to wash the gun with soap after the cleaner? If so what kind would you recommend? I’ve heard of some people use Windex. Also what kind of lube should I use on it during reassembly?

Best bet is a good gun cleaner like the 51029Z or the 51518ZP which we sell. If that's not available you can use acetone or something like mineral spirits or lacquer thinner.

As far as a lubricant I would search for a gun "lube" or "conditioner" @ your local auto paint retailer.

I use thinner to clean my guns and nothing else , just break the gun down , clean with both external brushes and internal brushes , reassemble and get back at it .I use sata guns so I use sata lube but be careful with lube if you soak the gun in a basin to clean it , the lube can contaminate the basin of thinner and then contaminate the paint job because the lube is now inside the gun.
