You're on the right track. Solvent cleaning is first to remove as much as possible. Then a good pre-cooking to boil off the rest. You just have to cook the part until it stops smoking.

  3. so theres realy no way to get it off besides burning it out? will this mess up my other parts if some greece fell into my oven?

Not really. Nope, won't hurt other parts as long as whatever dripped in the oven is burnt up and not creating smoke that could contaminate freshly coated parts.

Most grease zerks are one of 2 types, screw-in or press-in. Either way, they *can* be removed for better cleaning of the part. Otherwise, cooking all the grease out with heat is about all I've found that works well.

Older bike frames have the same problem at the neck and swingarm pivots. You have to make sure you get these grease free or you'll be cussing like a sailor at the end of the cure

  5. whenever possible i will remove the grease fittings and clean as well as possible and pre cook if needed.
btw it is grease and not greece . Greece is a country and it might take much longer to clean up than grease on a part

  6. "greaseon" is nasty to clean up also.

Let me add to the first par. of this post. If you have access to a hot tank, like radiator shops use, then that'll do it too.

  8. Brake clean , gasoline, kerosene etc will break down the grease before a good cleaning will also work. I would still do as directed and cook it till it dont smoke anymore, then blast and go.

  10. I knew I set myself up for that one, thanks for making it public dip stick, lol. Again though , let me quote " Before giving it a good cleaning" Quit making me look bad.... And , no , it wasnt an eyebrow thing. It was brows, lashes, hair , moustache beard, and both arms. But whats alittle hair missing anyway , I needed a haircut
