I used "Aircraft stripper. Took about 1.5 gallons to do an 1976 Triumph TR6. Pretty small car.

1 gallon aircraft stripper on my bug, and some of the paint was on so tight that I had to go over it two or three times.

Depending on the size of the car and the thickness and layers of paint on it, 2 to 3 cans should be plenty. Be sure to tape over all your door, trunk and hood gaps with a good quality masking tape to prevent stripper from dripping onto those areas. You can go along and sand the edges when you are done with the stripper. Eastwood has several strippers to choose from: http://eastwood.resultspage.com/sear...=14&submit.y=7
Also, our Nylon Scrapers http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?i...emType=PRODUCT will help in removing the softened paint from the surface.
