Default need help with the air compressor

Guys, who is familiar with Craftsman air compressors? I need your advise. I took the Craftsman air compressor from my fatherís friend. He gave me it to paint the bumper. He has not used that compressor for years, so it has not motor. I want to find affordable electric motor that will be good for the compressors. Can you please, give some hints or technical characteristic of preferred motor?

PS: I do not know in what subforum to ask this question, so please sorry

I’d start by looking up the model number of the compressor to see what motor originally came with it. You’re going to want something of the same horsepower and speed (rpm).

I checked the model of my compressor at the Craftsman website. Then I searched the Internet…
The most suitable motor according to needed specifications and my budget is this one https://www.mrosupply.com/motors/ac-...8os1aec56_weg/

    The specs:
    hp 1/2
    rpm 1800
    voltage 115
    phase 1

I only could not find good reviews about the manufacturer. It is Weg. The price is affordable but the quality of this product is very suspicious…

Your link doesn’t work, but all I can say is “you get what you pay for.”

Does Craftsman offer a replacement motor? How much is it?
