  1. Rust Converter before Encapsulator ?

As I reside in the UK I am finding it difficult to locate a supplier of Eastwoods Rust Converter. If I only use Pre and Encapsulator, will this give me long term protection on my rusty floor pans and inner roof ??

  2. Smile 79 F100 hood rust

What would be the best solution for rust through on ford hoods. Rust begins where the two panels are sandwiched together. Should I split the two panels completely apart, or treat the existing areas with a rust converter? Thanks ahead of time, first time poster.

My exhaust pipes (from the exhaust manifold back) are solid but covered with rust. After I wire wheel them, can I coat them with rust converter before I paint them with hi temp paint? How is the best way to deal with these pipes? Thanks.

  6. Removing surface rust from a panel joint

This week I started stripping down my 1994 Nissan 300zx to prep the body for paint. Before I bought the car, it had some so-so repairs done to it, including replacing the whole driver's side rear quarter panel. The panel was spliced in at the factory joints, and after removing all the panels, the...

I am working on a Yamaha XS850 Special, and the engine is very corroded. I wanted to know if anyone had a solution to removing the oxidation from the aluminum engine cases. I have tried using wire brushs and small round bristled brushs between the fins. This is a long and tedious process. If...

  9. Question Rust prevention for parts with tight tolerances

Does anyone have a lasting solution for refinishing moving parts? By that, I mean parts having close tolerances that would prohibit powder coating or thick paints (POR-15). I know plating is one option. I thought about simply applying rattlecan clearcoat, but I doubt that would hold up over...

I have a car with a large rust spot on the roof and was wondering if rust dissolver would harm glass? If so what would be the best way to protect the glass or is removal my best option?

  12. Question rusted paint chips

I just ordered some Rust Converter and Rust Encapsulator to use on my 2003 ML320. The previous owner left dozens of rock chips unattended and a lot of them now have rust. My plan is to thoroughly clean out each one with a rust pen, then use the converter and encapsulator (in separate...

  14. First time Rust Converter use...is this right?

Hello all. My first post here, figured I'd ask here since I am using Rust Converter. I had the lower valance of my 69 Charger sandblasted to remove old paint and rust. After blasting, there was a little bit of rust left but nothing major, so I figured to protect the 40 year-old metal for another...

  17. Rust in bed side rails

I am starting to work on the bed of my 56 Chevy. The sides and head board have tubes running the length. I can clean them a little, like I do my riffle, but I can not really do a good job. 18. Can a garage speed up rust?

I never thought I would consider this...but I have an 87 GMC farm truck that I garage for about a year and it was showing the normal rust that those trucks have.
